How to Apply

APPLICATIONS FOR THE JANUARY 2024 INTAKE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to train as secondary school teachers starting January 2024. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Mathematics is not a requirement for persons with visual impairment.

Programs on offer

  1. TWO and THREE - year programs a Sixteen Month Diploma in Education - Pedagogics.

a) Two Year Program : Accounting and Business Studies, Computer Science, ChiShona, English, Geography and Environmental Studies,
History and Heritages Studies and Mathematics.

b) Three Year Program: Accounting and Business Studies, Computer Science, ChiShona, English, Geography and Environmental
Studies, History and Heritages Studies and Mathematics, Agriculture, Building Technology and Design, Clothing Textiles Technology
and Design, Physical Education, Sport & Culture Mass Display, Art Technology & Design, Food Science Technology & Design and
Science.

c) Diploma in Education - Pedagogics

Accounting, Business Studies, Building Technology & Design, Agriculture, Clothing Textiles Technology & Design, Food Science
Technology and Design, Art Technology & Design & Computer Science.

Entry Requirements

  • 5 ’O’ level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
  • A pass in the subject to be studied.
  • 'O' level Science for the following subjects:
    Agriculture, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physical Education, Sport and Mass Displays, Food Science Technology and Design, Geography and Environmental Studies.

Please note:

  • Two-year program: Computer Science - two 'A' level passes in commercial or science subjects.
  • Three-year program: Computer Science - NFC, NC, or a good pass in Mathematics.
  • Art Technology & Design - NFC or NC.
  • Physical Education, Sport and Mass Display - a pass in any science subject.
  • Diploma in Education - Pedagogics.

At least an ND or better for all subjects except Building Technology & Design which requires at least an NC in Brick and Block laying.

  • Pedagogics is being offered on block release and also full time basis.

HOW TO APPLY:

Download the application form from the College website: www.mutareteachers.ac.zw , complete the form and attach scanned documents as one document and send to admissions@mutareteachers.ac.zw OR obtain the application form from Mutare Teachers' College Admissions Office. 

Pay USD20.00 at the bank rate into the CBZ Mutare Branch, Account number: 01320249260022 or use swipe machine at the college or pay USD20 into CBZ Mutare Branch FCA 01320249260042

(The bank accounts are to be used for application fees only)
