Inclusivity

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We have been created EQUAL though DIFFERENT.

No matter gender, looks, ability, health or function,

we have been created into one society.

Mutare Teachers’ College acknowledges that a normal

society is characterised by its multiplicity and diversity- not by sameness.

In line with government policy of Inclusive Education, Mutare Teacher’s College established the Disability Resource Centre in 2008 to cater for students with diverse learning styles including those with disabilities. The Disability Resource Centre (DRC), houses assistive technology devices used by individuals with disabilities in order to perform functions that might otherwise be difficult or impossible to perform. Assistive devices found in the DRC include Braille machines, radios with tape recorders, computers installed with the Open Book and JAWS software, and an embosser used to change print into Braille. Students have twenty four hour access to the centre.
