The Head of Department’s Message
The Science and Mathematics department aims to produce teachers through well designed syllabuses to broaden and deepen the students’ understanding of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics concepts. We also strive to develop in our students’ knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for innovation and industrialization through the heritage based philosophy. Students taking Science or Mathematics courses are also expected to develop critical thinking and analysis in solving everyday challenges as well as having an appreciation of use of ICT in teaching and learning.
Mathematics offers a 2 year programme for post A level students and a 3 year programme for post O` Level students. On the other hand Science offers a 3year programme for post O level Students. Upon completion the students are able to teach Science or Mathematics up to O level and would be qualified to proceed to university for a Bachelor in Education Degree
